Bongo Star Search (BSS) is an interactive reality TV show. The show aims to discover the best Tanzanian singer through a series of nationwide auditions. The audience is also involved in determining the eventual homegrown super star through voting.

The show was premiered on Independent Television (ITV) in 2006. Since then Four seasons have been celebrated and Bongo Star Search (BSS) has grown in appeal and equity to attain the status ‘most favored’ TV Program in Tanzania. Bongo Star Search (BSS) is Benchmark Productions’ creative way of deploying its resources to improve the lives of Tanzanian youths. Through Bongo Star Search (BSS) Benchmark has consistently made a difference in each person’s live, especially for the youth of Tanzania; there is a lot of talent lying idle due to lack of exposure and funds to discover, develop and promote them. We are committed to this; we strive to make it better each year so that these young talents would get world class exposure for their God given talents.

Bongo Star Search (BSS) 2011 is going to be different, unique and more challenging for participants to deliver more entertainment to our audience. We welcome you on board. Watch us on ITV on Saturdays at 9pm and on Tuesdays at 11pm, furthermore follow us on your favourite social media.

Through Partnerships with other companies and organizations; Bongo Star Search (BSS) will continue to promote the ability for Tanzanian youths to relieve their passion for music and get economically liberated.
