Mwanza Auditions

Mwanza otherwise known as 'Rock City' a home for many of the previous Bongo Star Search talents is finally up on the list. The auditions were held at the Villa Park, and although the Location was spacious, we were constantly interrupted as it was adjacent to the CCM Kirumba stadium where all the bulstering advertisment for activities would pass.

We had other grievances which included several occasions of blaring loudspeakers that were coming from the stadium and not forgetting fluctuating electricity. But at the end of it all the turn out was great, countless people came on the first day, and many more came for the auditions on the second day. Although many turned up for the auditions, mwanza did not potray as much talent as it usually does in terms of good qualitative singers.

During the auditions, one Superstardom wannabe played tricks by changing clothes at least four times and although he managed to slip through a couple of times, the Chief Judge finally recognize him and we checked the records. The records clearly showed that he had auditioned the day before, but he was so determined he lied telling the judges it was his brother, after shwoing him the footage review he later admitted his trick and was dismissed for the misconduct.

Also spotted in the queue was Monica Amon (Last Year 50 conteder), who failed to get noticed by the people at the registration, neither did she capture the judges nods this time.

The Judges and Crew had times of their lives as they were billeted in two classy hotels, Nyumba Hotel for the Judges and Isimilo Hotel for the Crew.

As you already know BSS Season 4 has a little twist this year: the addition of guest judges. Our Mwanza guest judge is Lamar. A Tanzanian producer who has great success despite his young age like receiving the title 'Best producer' in the Kili Music Awards.
